DERTERMINANTS PT 8 BY BISHOP DAY
For the past month, I have been preaching on the subject of
spiritual determinants. These determinants are certain things that
dictate the outcome of our lives. Some of these determinants are speed,
strength, wisdom, understanding, favor and blessings of the Lord!
Another spiritual determinant that has an effect on our lives is
fellowship! As Christians, the people we fraternize and surround
ourselves with are important to our growth and success of our spiritual
lives. The people we surround ourselves with affect us more than we realize.
If you are a born again Christian, it is dangerous to surround yourself
with unbelievers or even unserious believers. It is very hard to live a
life separated unto God with ungodly fellowship. We must surround
ourselves with people who have and listen to Christian podcast, attend
carnivals and camps when they are announced and do not mock our
Christianity. If you do not fellowship with God you fellowship with
something else. Fellowship is everything and has an unseen impact on the
outcome of your life.
1) Good fellowship is a determinant of a Christian’s survival. (Hebrews 10:25)
- The Bible says that we should not forsake the assembling of the
saints, but rather we should do it even more. Fellowship with godly
people will determine whether or not you will survive in your Christian
walk.
2) Good fellowship is a determinant for blessings! (Psalm 1:1)
- When you walk, or stand in the counsel of the ungodly, you are not
blessed. Fellowship with godly people attracts the blessings of God upon
your life.
3) Good fellowship is a determinant to becoming a son or a daughter. (2 Corinthians 6:16)
- When you associate yourself with good company, you position yourself to becoming a son or daughter.
Having spiritual friends you flow with helps you grow in the faith.
It also allows you to be around like minded people who have the same
spiritual goals that you do.
